Organisations

There are many amazing organisations in the world. They do all kinds of things for different groups and for different reasons. The organisations below are, I believe, those which most inspire me. Please take some time to visit their sites and see what they do?

Help For Heroes
  • It's about 'the blokes': those men and women of our Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of our country since 9/11.
British Legion
  • This year alone, the Legion will spend more than £72 million providing assistance to over 160,000 serving and ex-serving Armed Forces personnel and their families, as well as campaigning on their behalf. This equates to well over £1 million every week.
Compassion
  • Compassion focuses on the spiritual, physical, economic and social needs of children in poverty. Sponsor a child and make a life changing difference for a child in need.
Mission Aviation Fellowship UK
  • MAF is a dynamic Christian organisation operating more than 135 aircraft across over 35 countries in the developing world. Flying across hostile environments, they reach the world’s most isolated people. Partnering with over 1,000 organisations they bring physical, spiritual and physical care to those who need it most.
Tumaini Fund
  • Tumaini is the Swahili word for Hope and it is a Guernsey-based charity, seeking to alleviate the terrible suffering of the AIDS widows and orphans in Kagera, the North-West province of Tanzania.
Royal National Lifeboat Institution
  • The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We provide a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK and RoI, as well as a seasonal lifeguard service on many of the busiest beaches in England and Wales.
INPUT - Pain Management Centre
  • INPUT is a pain management centre at St Thomas' where patients from all over the country come to learn better ways of coping with their pain.
The Robinhood Tax
  • This tax on the financial sector has the power to raise hundreds of billions every year globally. It could give a vital boost to the NHS, our schools, and the fight against child poverty in the UK – as well as tackling poverty and climate change around the world. Not complicated. Just brilliant.
Sea Shepherd
  • Sea Shepherd: uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately-balanced ocean ecosystems, Sea Shepherd works to ensure their survival for future generations.
Handicap International
  • Handicap International is an independent international aid organisation working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. We work alongside disabled and vulnerable people in over 60 countries worldwide.
